What I wish for you and your business is market singularity. That you are the only choice, the only alternative for the particular thing that you do for your valuable clients. This is hard to do, but it’s so valuable to pursue. There’s a lot of, it’s not a new idea, right? There’s a lot of books out there about this, The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing, Chris Lockhead books about category design and even EOS, the Entrepreneurial Operating System. Part of the market strategy there is the, the three uniques of a business. They all are about this idea of not having competitors. And I wanna share three steps you can take on the path to that for your business.
Target
First, be crystal clear and specific about your target. One way to be unique is to find the unique set of people that need what you do, your flavor of what you do and not what your competitors can do.
Offer
The next step is to understand your offer and fine tune it for that unique target so that the way you provide it, no one else can replicate. And this isn’t just about features or, or performance of the product. It might be about the way it’s delivered. It might be where they can get it. There’s so many different vectors of differentiation you can find.
Value
So, and then once you know that your offer is unique, then you want to understand how, what it does for that target no one else can deliver. So the value that they get is one in a million is only can be achieved, only can be attained through your delivery of your offer.
Those are real simple statements. Not easy, of course, but I think, looking at it through this lens, this three part lens is a great exercise for you to sharpen the positioning of your offering and hopefully get that market singularity for your business.
