Questions are Better than Answers

Prompt engineering. A lot of people say that is the secret to getting the most out of AI in your business. I wanna challenge that. I believe that even more important than the questions you ask AI are what questions AI asks you. And there are at least two reasons that that’s important.

Ardous Good:
First, businesses are constantly learning and that is not gonna change no matter how capable AI gets. The people in the business, their capability is what is gonna be essential for the success of the business. And learning and trying and doing things continue to be necessary to maintain the muscles, the strength, the capability, the expertise. So having AI challenge you to be better, to learn more, to understand things deeper is ultimately a more sustainable, long-term path to success than what you give to AI to do for you.

And part of the reason for that is AI is amazing, but everybody has that same amazingness available to them at some level. So you aren’t gonna differentiate your business by your smart AI. You’re gonna differentiate your business by what your team does with it. So keep yourselves sharp and have AI be an instructor, a mentor, a teacher for you, and you will come out ahead.

The Most Humans Wins:
The second reason it’s important to be growing as humans in your business is the outside version of that same AI versus human story is that ultimately your customers want to buy from people. They wanna buy from human beings because they wanna trust you. They wanna believe in your judgment. They wanna be known by you. And AI by itself, technology without a human intention behind it is cold and is ultimately undesirable.

At the end, I believe that as AI becomes more and more present in how we go through life and how business gets done, companies that can stand out with a human first solution, totally enhanced by AI, are going to win. So having AI help you be a better human is much more valuable and has a much higher ROI than having AI do all the stuff for you.
