Sculpture Culture

Michelangelo supposedly said something along the lines of, as a sculptor, all I need to do is remove the granite from the sculpture that’s already there in the granite block. I think business culture is similar. Rather than try to add a culture or build a culture.

Companies that succeed are the ones that start with their truth, the purpose they have for their business, what success looks like for their customers, and then remove the things that are in the way of making that possible.

There’s a value there that is important and significant for your target. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have created a business. Your job isn’t to force that. Your job is to let it happen, get out of the way.
