Prompt engineering is the latest growth industry today, and it’s so important when you’re using chat, GPT or Gemini or Claude, that you are applying AI in a way that’s gonna end up with the most productive result for you, but also very specific to your needs. I like to think of it as an AI sandwich.

It starts with the context. What are we trying to do? What role are you asking the AI to take in this process? And.

AI is in the center. That’s the juice.

Activation
But then you also need to provide it with very specific instructions on what you want out of that. What’s the deliverable that you’re asking for?

Don’t close it off. Of course you want not to be too tied down, but there’s a magic point where you’re telling it exactly what you, you want, otherwise you’ll get a result that’s not really gonna satisfy your needs.

I wanna make a case to say that that’s true for prompt engineering on ChatGPT, but it’s just as true, may be more so at the more holistic level of AI being adopted in your company. It’s so essential for you as the CEO to have a role in how your business is gonna apply ai. And it’s that same AI sandwich that’s gonna help you do that. Start with an understanding with your team and a plan that says, “here is what we’re gonna ask AI to do in our business.” That context, “here is how the role it will play, and here are the roles that it won’t play.” Just as important as you’re applying AI technology into your systems or your product or your, you know, supporting your teams, however it might be being used. It’s very important to provide a very clear roadmap of deployment for the team and to work together with the team as this rapidly evolves. And as you iterate because it is so dynamic, it’s really critical that you are choosing the direction that AI takes you in rather than letting AI be in charge.
