I want to share with you the very simplest way for you to grow your business. It’s a two step process, and it co includes everything you need to do in your business. It includes all the money you spend, all the people that do the work, all of the outputs of everything of your business.
Find Your Truth
Step one, find your truth. This could be your brand, if you want to call it that, your product market fit. It’s your traction. This is understanding the truth about why your business exists, what you do, who exactly you do it for, and what they get from what you do. Both of these steps, by the way, you could work on them forever and you will never get them perfect, right? So it’s a constant evolution of understanding that core truth of your business better and better and making it clearer and clearer as you talk about it.
Get Out of the Way
The next step is to get out of the way. That truth, that value that you provide is what is gonna attract your clients, is gonna motivate them to pay you to stay with you. Everything in your business is about delivering that value. Your promise and the challenges in your business are friction, are roadblocks, are obstructions, things that are in the way of you delivering that truth. So, get out of the way covers a lot, right? It covers the inefficiency in your organization. It covers the conflict, and interpersonal friction between your team and your partners and your customers and your prospect. It covers the lack of clarity about your message, about communicating what you can do for them and also your ability to deliver that. The ineffective processes and delivery modes of your product. Everything you do, you can look at it and say, “how can I remove the roadblocks?” And that’s usually they’re caused by the humanness of your team and yourself, right? And the finding ways to streamline that value for your clients solves everything.
To get a little tactical, I love to use the customer journey as a tool to do this and map out. I use seven stages, but map out the journey that your prospects are on from before they know you to when they’ve loved you as a client for years. And look at each stage in that journey and understand what you want it to be. So what would your truth make that be if they were, if you were able to perfectly deliver that value, how would they proceed through? What would they experience from you? What would they do to move on and progress? Then go back through that journey and take note of the things that are in the way. What is blocking that perfect path? And that’s where you focus your efforts on improving your business.
B2b Marketing
So, pretty simple, but amazingly deep and again, it could take the lifetime of your business to get to the end of that.
